This Month's Reading Competition
Read. Record. Win $50.
Introduction
Do you love stories and want to practise your English in a fun, creative way?
Every month, I run a special Reading Competition where you can record yourself reading one of my short story extracts.
It’s simple, engaging, and a great way to improve your confidence in English.
The best recording wins a $50 prize — and your entry could be featured on ManWrites!
Whether you’re a student, teacher, or just someone who enjoys stories, this is your chance to shine.
The Rules
1. What You Have to Do
Choose the featured story segment (announced via email).
Record yourself reading the full story aloud.
Submit your audio recording by the deadline (details in email).
That’s it!
Â
2. Judging Criteria
Your recording will be judged on:
Clarity – Is your voice clear and easy to understand?
Expression – Do you bring the story to life with tone and emotion?
Accuracy – Did you read the text correctly, without changing or skipping anything?
Bonus points for personality and pacing!
Â
3. Who Can Enter
This competition is open to non-native English speakers only.
You may be:
A student learning English
A teacher of English as a second language
A self-learner improving your spoken English
If you are a native English speaker, please support others — but this competition is for learners.
