Talking Points
This is the first Talking Points book I wrote.
It comes complete with 25 lesson plans in the form of reading and speaking.
Each lesson comprises the following format:
- a 500-word article for reading
- a table of vocabulary
- a page of discussion questions
All the topics are designed to be engaging and thought-provoking to encourage much discussion in the classroom.
If you are a teacher, you can use this book in any General English class, but can also be used in a reading or speaking class. It could also be used in an IELTS class to practice reading and speaking.

Following the rip-roaring success of the first book, I wrote Talking Points 2.
This comes with 25 more lesson plans on engaging and inspiring topics.
The format for these lessons is as follow:
- some introductory questions
- a 500-word article for reading
- a page of reading comprehension questions
- a table of vocabulary
- an exercise for small groups or all the class
- a page of discussion questions
- a writing exercise that can be done as homework
All the topics of Talking Points 2 are designed to create a lively sense of discussion and debate in the classroom.
